Gardening doesn't have to cost a mint

Times are tough. Many of us will take our Mother's Day trips to the nursery with less to spend. But that need not mean less gardening - in fact, home gardening can be the essence of thrift. Here are some ways to get as much enjoyment out of gardening as ever on a lower budget.

May. 8th — Oh, thank God that I'm not invited to Jamie Lee Curtis's 50th birthday bash. And I use that word loosely. If you define bash as getting together with the neighbors for egg-white omelets and protein shakes, then, yes, it's a bash cuz that's what our girl is planning. Oh! Make mine Metamucil! Or not.

inHealth Ali put a face on Parkinson's disease
May. 9th — About a quarter of a century ago, Muhammad Ali was standing with one of his daughters (he has 9 children) by a driveway at Los Angeles International Airport. We were walking by when my son, Andrew, spotted the famous boxer. My other son, Tom, immediately ran over to him and Ali did a right-left-right handshake and gave Tom an autograph.
