Well, the chill is in the air, it’s September already. Hard to believe the summer went by so fast. Time for some good new music to snuggle up with. As with movies, good albums come out in the fall, just in time for the holidays. Here’s one I highly recommend.
‘Harps & Angels’ by Randy Newman is my favorite new music right now. After having great albums with singles like, ‘Short People’ & ‘I Love LA’ in the 70’s & 80’s, Randy only did music scores for years. Every so often you’d see him on the Academy Awards nominated for an Oscar for some song in a movie. He finally got one a few years ago.
Now Randy’s back with his first album of new material in almost 10 years. And I love it. It makes me remember why I always loved him back in the day. It's sharp, witty, touching, political, and downright funny. I’m not going to tell you anything more about it, because if you click on the link below, you can actually go to an NPR website and listen to him perform the whole thing. You can also read about his career. If you were ever a Randy Newman fan, I think you'll dig it.

Here is one of the songs from the album.
Until next time, rock on and be excellent to each other... Penny

Linda, You are so right. Amazing how a song written in 1974 could be so pertinent today. I have posted the youtube clip of it. Thanks for sharing. Penny
