Is low-carb making a comeback?

Except for a few detours, I've always tried to stay on the low-carb road. With a family history of diabetes, I think it's the most sensible and effective approach for me. But low-carb crusaders have had a tough fight since the Atkins heyday int he early 90s. Maybe the a new study released this week will tip the scales back in their favor.

What's not to love about low-carbing? You can have as much protein as you want, including eggs and red meat (although I limit the burgers and steak to only twice a week). You may take real cream in your coffee, slather butter on your veggies, and drizzle bleu cheese dressing on your Romaine to your heart's content. Best of all, you can relax with the occasional highball and not suffer the consequences the next day!

Of course, for every diet and/or study, there is a critic. And low-fat guru, Dr. Dean Ornish, has already weighed in on this one. The "diet wars" will rage on forever, I'm afraid.

I guess it's all about finding the right road for you, and trying hard not to veer off.
