Carole King was married, pregnant and cranking out hit songs at age 17. Joni Mitchell gave up her baby girl and started composing the most heart-wrenching songs of her life. Carly Simon's list of lovers reads like a "Who's Who" of the entertainment industry. Their stories are all chronicled, in juicy detail, in "Girls Like Us" by Sheila Weller. Listen in on my phone conversation with Sheila and get some insight into the lives of your favorite musical heroines.

I can't wait to read this book. These three women were my "imaginary friends" in college and so much a part of that incredible time.

This was a great interview. These women provided the "soundtrack of my life" as well, during my high school-college days. I will buy this book as my "summer read".
