With a silly nod to Elvis, and another to blogger Pat Detmer who stole my "What I'm Thankful For" headline, here's the short list of what I'm grateful for today:
Love of family and special friends
My adult boomerang children who - as it turns out - aren't difficult to live with, at all....most days
BoomerGirl readers, bloggers and advertisers
Pat Sajak's Lucky Letters game (seriously, I am totally addicted!)
The fact that I have a 401K, at all, even though it has shrunken to a shadow of its former self
Reynold's Oven Bags and Stove Top stuffing (There, I admit it. But I do add onions, pecans and dried cranberries to it!)
Moisturizer
Gasoline at $1.49 a gallon
Pinot Noir
Ibuprofen
Tums
And love, because you can never be too thankful for that.

This year I am especially thankful to be in a safe place with my loving family and good friends. We Americans, just have nothing to complain about, with all the strife going on in other parts of the world.

"Stole?" I "stole" your headline? I think a kinder accusation might be that I pre-dated your headline.
Seriously, I also vote "thankful" for moisturizer. Where would I be without it? Pretty much all over the floor in the form of fallen skin flakes, I'm thinking.

OK, Pat. You pre-dated me. You're right, that's much better!
To my list, I'd like to add fresh sage, chives and thyme from my garden, which I just added to softened butter and smeared with my hands all over my turkey, under and on top of the skin!!!
Oh, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and National Dog Show on NBC!
And days off from work...
