Hi Margo! I count "My Big Greek Wedding"! We have the DVD and watch at least once a year! Reality is the foundation of this comedy! I think that is what makes comedy work. My favorite part is when the groom-to-be is introduced to the cousins: "This is Nikos, this is Nikos, this is Nikos, etc" I am always confused and have to ask "Which Nikos, Which Kostas, etc. are you talking about?" The first born son is named after the grandfather and the first born daughter after the grandmother. (The new parents have to work out which, the paternal or maternal grandparents!)
That's why my older daughter is named 'Kleoniki' after my husband's mother. It means something like 'wondrous victory.'
I'll look for the movie "Moonspinners" at the DVD store. I don't remember it.
I can tell you that A LOT of Greek men are very good looking!

On 3 Greek movies to look for on DVD!

Hi lost in the 70s! I guess it does depend on if you live on a neighborhood type street where people are out walking or sitting on their porches! You have me remembering living in Connecticut and I think I would have been shunned there, too. It's nice here because people are very talkative. My accent in Greek still isn't very good so luckily they do most of the talking! And in my experience they like having their pictures taken. Let me know what you think of Babelgum and the movie!

Thank goodness for this new study! Coffee frape is my favorite drink!
My friends often like to chide me and say, "no, no, you mustn't drink so much!"
My grandparents drank coffee from the moment they woke up til the end of the work day so I think I might have a genetic need for coffee!

Fun to listen to you chat! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one with a Huge cringe factor! I have to sit far away as possible from the TV and crochet so I can distance myself . . . and lots of times that is not enough!

She's wonderful! I still dance like this,I think it's a happy way to dance. My teens have forbidden me to dance when they or their friends are around! But . . . one of them has a boy friend who loves to dance, hiphop, moondance, robot, etc. so I'm teaching him The Twist!

Thank goodness to see Positive comments about our younger generation. It seems so much of the popular media wants to tell us 'beware, young people are dangerous' or 'they are all stupid'. it's easy to find smart generous kids everywhere we look. Lovely sentiment in your ending sentence!
